A young girl, Kiara, called Pregnancy Help 4 U on a Monday morning in desperate need of a pregnancy test. She was crying on the phone and explaining to Katie that she needed it as soon as possible. She did not have a ride but was so desperate she was willing to walk one hour and twenty minutes to meet Katie at the Davis Blvd. center. Kiara was terrified about being pregnant and did not know how she would ever be able to tell her mom and was planning on seeking an abortion if the test was positive. By the grace of God, Kiara’s test was negative and Katie was able to share her testimonty, speak the truth of God’s love into her life and encourage her to pursue abstinence and start taking steps to live her life the way God planned and designed it to be lived to the fullest.
Emily came in on a Saturday morning along with her boyfriend, boyfriend’s parents and her mom and two uncles. There was clearly hostility between the two families and a tension in the waiting room. Karen Ashlock met with the girl, her boyfriend and her mom. Kayla met with the boyfriend’s mom. Emily’s mother is not a believer and is currently struggling with a harsh drug addiction. She was pushing Emily to pursue an abortion. Emily told us she would be open to adoption and spoke with Karen about that option. At the end of Emily’s appointment Karen asked if she could pray with the family. Emily’s mother said no but her boyfriend stepped up and asked Karen to please pray over them. Since the appointment she has returned for a sonogram and is planning to keep her baby and will either parent or make an adoption plan. Karen is calling her monthly to check in and help her however she can.
We recently had a client come in who was referred to us by a midwife. She and her husband came for a sonogram and she was 16 weeks. They baby was healthy and the couple was happy and so appreciative of how well we treated them and spent time with them on the sonogram. They felt the love of God all over them and their baby.
Becca came to us after having been at another pregnancy center in the area. She found us on the internet and was crying when she called to make her appointment. She came in with her mom and told us she had been treated very poorly at the other center. She said she felt very judged by them when they told her, “You do know why you are in this position, right? Pregnant? You know you can prevent this.” Shauna, a volunteer Client Advocate met with Becca and took very good care of her. While she was here she was able to receive a sonogram, make a plan for her pregnancy and be prayed over. She left saying what a great place this was and how the people really cared.
Jasmine came to Davis with her mother. She is only seventeen years old and needed a sonogram. She was very quiet as they watched the sono. She was very abortion vulnerable but left asking for materials to take with her. Her mother stated how she wished they had a place like this when she was younger and was very thankful for our services.
Thank you for all of your prayers and support! God is doing amazing things on Davis Blvd!!
